The Secret Map of Human History

The Secret Map of Human History

Imagine for a moment that we Humans only lived for one day. That
our entire lifespan only lasted for 24 hours. Now imagine that you
were born in the middle of winter. All you knew for your whole life
(one day!) was cold and snow. During the day you pick up a book and
read about an amazing time called 'summer', when there was a thing
called heat, and there was no snow, and the night was far shorter.
All these things would seem like an unbelievable myth to you. They
would seem remote and fanciful.

But this is exactly what it is like for us when we try to imagine
the vast stretch of time that lies between us and the eras of the
past. We find it difficult to believe there were times when things
were vastly different. And I don't just mean different in terms of
having new knowledge or technology (although this is part of it),
but different in terms of Humanity having a very different 'mood',
things 'feeling different' and of a different set of values and
intentions. In fact, we find it difficult to believe in the fact
that there is such a thing at all as the long cycle of history that
lasts for thousands of years.

However, this cycle does exist, it's called the procession of the
equinoxes and one cycle through it takes around 26,000 years!
Furthermore, this cycle was extremely important to the ancients (in
fact, its amazing that they even knew about it, and just shows how
sophisticated they were at observing the heavens, and how long our
ancestors must have been doing this).

Basically, this slow cycle is due to the very slow wobbling of the
Earth's axis of rotation, which results in the sun passing through
a different constellation every two thousand years or so.

Each age is then characterised by the star sign which the sun is
passing through. The key to understanding it is to imagine the
zodiac as a wheel, with 12 constellations (the 12 star signs). Then
imagine a spoke connects each star sign to the one opposite it on
the wheel, at 180 degrees away. Therefore each age is outwardly
expressed by the constellation the sun is going through, but also
the inner values of people during that age are expressed by the
opposite constellation.

Through most of history we didn't have printing presses (or the
Internet!) and therefore knowledge was passed down by word of
mouth. Therefore we had to mostly encode knowledge into stories, in
order that they remain interesting and memorable enough for them to
be passed down across generations. The myths of the ancients, which
form the basis of cultures through time, encoded this astrological
knowledge.

The key point is that even if you don't believe in astrology, our
ancestors most certainly did, and it has played a huge role in
influencing our culture and in influencing myths and the passing
down of information through history. This is why I call this 26
thousand year astrological cycle the 'hidden map of Human history'.

This is a huge area, which you can explore online if you so wish (a
great link to start with is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrological_age because there are
some interesting links at the end of it), but here is a brief
sketch of this ancient map of Human history.

The Age of Leo-Aquarius (around 10,000 BC to 8,000 BC)
The sun (Leo) returns to its strength, symbolising the end of the
Ice age. Humanity (Aquarius) starts to flourish again. This is also
a time of great creativity (Leo) as is testified by the vast number
of cave paintings that survive from this era.

The Age of Cancer-Capricorn (around 8,000 BC to 6,000BC)
Cancer is the symbol of the moon and the mother/home. First fixed
dwellings outside of caves. Rotund mother-figurines with big bosoms
seem to have been incessantly carved during this period.

The Age of Gemini-Sagittarius (around 6,000 to 4,000 BC)
Gemini, the communicator. Unsurprisingly it is during this great
month that writing appears and is gradually developed. The inner
life was characterised by Sagittarius, unsurprisingly, religion
took root during this era as did libraries.

The Age of Taurus-Scorpio (around 4,000 to 2,000 BC)

The age of Taurus-scorpio is best represented by the rise of the
ancient Egyptian civilisation during this era. And unsurprisingly
they built some very sturdy long-lasting buildings! Carvings of
bulls were commonplace in this era. Their inner-life (follow the
spoke!) was characterised by the Scorpionic themes of death, and
the life-death cycle. The ancient Eygptians were pretty obsessed
with the life-death cycle and put a lot of effort into preserving
the death (mummification).

The Age of Aries-libra (around 2,000 BC to 1BC)

The movement of the age of Taurus into the age of Aries is
symbolised by the escape of the Isrealites (aries) from Eygpt
(Taurus). The Ram became the spiritual symbol of this era, as used
by the great founders (leading personalities, and pioneers are
ruled by Aries), Moses and Abraham who formed the base for the
Jewish religion (and later Christianity). This religion came to
state that everything would eventually end in a day of judgement
(Libra being the ruler of justice and judgement). This was also the
era in which great empires were first forged by single powerful
dictators (again, an Arian theme).

The Age of Pisces-Virgo (Around the birth of Christ until around
2,600)
Nothing symbolises this age more than the beginning and spread of
the Christian religion. The birth of Jesus Christ basically starts
off this era, and its no co-incidence that the fish (Pisces) was
used as the symbol of Christ, and that he was called 'the fisher of
men'. Its equally no surprise that the next most important figure
in Christianity is the Virgin mary (Virgo), or that many of the
ideals that Christ taught, such as meekness and service to others,
are very Virgoan messages.

The forthcoming age of Aquarius-Leo (2600 AD onwards)
In the bible, Jesus Christ predicts the coming age of Aquarius: "a
man will meet you carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him
into the house where he goes in"
(Luke 22:10; Mark 14:13.), Aquarius, of course, being the water
carrier, symbolized by a man pouring water out of an earthen
pitcher. Although the age of Aquarius probably doesn't start until
around 2600 (the exact dates vary according to who you ask), we are
said to be starting to feel the beginnings of its influence
already, and the gradual fading out of the age of Pisces-Virgo. One
example of this is the growing importance of electronics and
science (both very Aquarian areas) and in the gradual falling away
of the respect people have for authority and for traditional
institutions of authority. Its also quite possible that this
forthcoming era will be warmer and wetter than we are currently
used to, and if you believe the current predictions of global
warming, this could be the reason why.

Plato's Warning

Plato's warning

"The mind has lost its cutting edge, we hardly understand the
Ancients," Gregoire de Tours, 600 A.D.

Many people are aware that the ancients were more connected to the
natural rhythms of life and the Earth than we are today. Modern
life can be stressful and alienating, partly because we now live in
ignorance of these pulses of life, and out of touch with the
natural world. However, another major difference between the way we
think today and the way the ancients thought is that one of our
main methods of acquiring and passing on knowledge is through the
written word; for the ancients, the spoken word was far more
important.

Plato understood this transition from an oral to a written culture.

Plato was a Greek philosopher, born almost 500 years before Christ.
In his youth he was a pupil of Socrates, and later his life he
founded an academy of learning in Athens which lasted almost 900
years. And whose pupils included Aristotle.

In many ways Plato is the link between the 'modern' history of the
last 2500 years from which we have many written records, and the
vast ancient past, from which we have fewer written records. Plato
passed on a warning from others who came before him that the
invention of writing would dull the mind.

The absence of writing results in an oral culture where knowledge
and wisdom is passed down through stories, poetry and song.
Knowledge becomes a living thing, a part of life that is always
passed on directly from person to person, and not in a dry,
abstract way like the written word. "Information," says computer
scientist Jaron Lanier, "is just alienated experience." The oral
culture is not alienating, it is personal and alive.

The problem, of course, is that much information from thousands of
years ago is lost to us now, and much of it that has reached us has
changed through time. Yet scholars are now starting to take the
world's myths seriously, not just as an interesting form of
entertainment, but as a source of real knowledge about ancient
history.

One key feature of the ancient way of thinking was that everything
was connected. All forms of knowledge where part of one beautiful
whole. One central hub of this whole was mathematics, as it was
connected to music, to poetry, to architecture, to the movements of
the planets, and hence to astrology and Human affairs.

Another central hub was myth. This connected stories to knowledge
of history, of the cycles of the natural world (including natural
disasters), and of the vast wealth of knowledge that our ancient
ancestors had built up over thousands of years.

The written word has many benefits to it, and does enable
information to be passed down through time intact. But I wonder how
much information we lost in the transition from an oral to written
culture? I suspect it was vast. Only by studying the ancient myths,
and understanding the differences in thinking of an oral culture
will we begin to hear the long lost whispers of our distant
ancestors.

Do your thoughts create reality?

Do your thoughts create reality?

One of the biggest themes of the new age movement is that your
thoughts create reality. Many people believe that this is 100% so,
and that we literally create the world around us through our
conscious mind. Many others believe that this is not so at all, and
that we are nothing but meaningless products of the material world,
and our thoughts have no direct influence on it at all. I believe
that both points of view are partially wrong and partially right!
Permit me to explain.

Firstly, there are all sorts of perfectly normal channels through
which amazing co-incidences can happen. For example, there is the
phenomena know as 'six degrees of separation'. In the late 1960s a
psychologist called Stanley Milgram sent out a large number of
postcards to a random selection of people across the USA. On the
cards were instructions that they should be sent to one of two
people. However, as the recipient of the postcard didn't know that
person, they were told to send it to anyone they knew on first-name
terms who was most likely to know that person. And then that person
also had to send it on, etc. Surprisingly, 80% of the postcards
which arrived only went through only four or less steps, and
virtually all of the postcards went through less than six steps. In
other words, the results of this study seem to suggest that you are
only six people or less away from knowing anyone on the planet.
Therefore if you talk to lots of people about your particular goal
or dream, it might not take too long before you make the vital
connections that help you to make it real.

The wider point here is that we live in a very interconnected
world, and therefore the pathway from you to the people and ideas
that you need to succeed is shorter than you might otherwise think.

There are other, perfectly natural ways in which how we focus our
thoughts can influence reality. For example, our subconscious minds
are constantly taking in vastly more information than we realise,
and then filtering it and passing on only a select view to our
conscious minds. This is because what we can consciously focus on
at any one time is limited, and if we were made consciously aware
of every single piece of information coming in through our senses
we would become completely over-whelmed. So what happens is that
our subconscious mind filters information that it thinks is
relevant to us, according to what we've been consciously thinking
about. The result of this is that whatever we assume to be true
about the world very strongly influences the information about the
world that we become aware of. For example, someone who is
depressed will tend to only see the dark side of life, someone who
is positive, the upside. Most of us have also experienced this
filtering if we've ever bought a car, and then in the following
weeks we seem to see the same model of car everywhere. This is not
a co-incidence, its just our subconscious mind's filtering system
kicking in and making us aware of them.

Of course, what this filtering system tends to do is re-inforce our
beliefs. So, the depressed person whose subconscious mind is
filtering information to support their view of the world as being a
dark and depressing place, only becomes more depressed. It's a
downward spiral. But the person who believes that they are going to
be lucky is more likely to have opportunities filtered their way,
and hence they make their own luck. In this sense, the world around
us is an almost limitless range of potentials, and its our mind
that filters between the different possibilities that we will
experience.

Its also possible that because your subconscious mind is constantly
taking in more information than you are consciously aware of, it is
able to make connections and strategies that you couldnt make
consciously. So, for example, you might have a gut feeling that if
you spoke to a particular person, they would be able to help you
out. And the feeling turns out to be accurate. Its probably due to
something that person had said in the past that you had consciously
forgotten, but subconsciously remembered.

However, some people argue that we can influence reality directly
through some kind of psychic process. Surprisingly (to some) there
is increasing evidence that psychic effects are real. It is very
hard to scientifically 'prove' that something like psychic effects
exist, but what you can do is provide evidence that supports the
idea. The current evidence is that in repeated experiments, people
seem to be able to very slightly change the results of a random
number generator. A computer constantly, randomly producing either
a one or a zero will tend to produce 50% of each. But in
experiments, over a large number of trials people are able to very
slightly change this ratio. The significance of this is not in the
amount of change each individual is able to create, but the fact
that it happens over and over across a large number of experiments.

The interesting thing about these experiments is that now even
sceptical scientists have been forced to admit that 'something' is
clearly happening. Although, of course, most of them say that there
must be some other effect to account for the statistical results,
as to admit that psychic, mind-over-matter effects really could
exist could affect their professional reputation.

Other people might say 'yes, there seems to be evidence for psychic
effects - mind over matter - but they are only very small.' This is
true. And at the level that has been demonstrated in experiments so
far, is equivalent to a drop of water in a large ocean. However,
the experiments used something which is very un-natural (i.e. if we
had evolved psychic abilities, changing the results of a
random-number-generating computer would be totally unlike anything
we might have used those abilities for). Under different
circumstances, for example, with an outcome that was highly
emotional, or that was something that the person genuinely wanted
to happen, its reasonable to assume that a person could have a
larger effect.

Indeed, some scientists now believe that consciousness itself has a
central part in creating reality. An idea which has been around
since ancient times. Experiments at the very small
scale of reality, which is described by a field called quantum
physics, show a couple of things that seem to point to the
possibility of mind being directly connected and able to influence
matter. Firstly, at this very small, fundamental level of reality,
it seems that things are not so separate as we perceive them to be
in our everyday world. Particles are able to influence eachother
instantly, even though they are miles apart, which seems to break
all the rules about information travelling no faster than the speed
of light. The second interesting finding is that when we look at
this most fundamental level of reality, things don't seem to be so
solid and definite as we perceive them to be. It seems to be more
of a realm of possibilities, with particles being in two states at
once, until they are forced to become one or the other. What forces
them? Well, once we take a measurement, then the particles are
'forced' to choose one state or another. In other words, it's
impossible to measure something at that level without influencing
it. But what some scientists have claimed is that its consciousness
itself that is constantly choosing between these different
possibilities and determining which of them becomes real. If this
is the case, then mind really does create reality.

So, the idea that we create reality with our thinking is one
possibility. But the idea that we influence reality with our
thinking is definitely true. The idea that we strongly influence
our reality can be scary, as it means that we are more or less
responsible for many of the circumstances of our lives. But
ultimately it is an exciting and liberating idea, because we can
re-make our lives in the way we want them.

How to use your mind to get what you want in life

My new course 'Practical Manifestation Goldmine' was released this month.

The course comes in a binder, with five CDs, and uncovers a wide range of little-known secrets for using the power of your mind to get what you want in life, be that more money, material objects, better relationships etc.

Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the course:

Q: What do you get with the course?

A: The core of the course is a manual called '33 days to re-train
your brain for wealth'. This manual is over 60 pages long and comes
in a hard binder. Then there are the hypnosis CDs for training your
subconscious mind to achieve your dreams (3 tracks on 2 CDs). Then
there are two meditation CDs which sound like peaceful rain, but
contain embedded frequencies that automatically make your brain
meditate. I bought in these meditation CDs as they are a great way to
re-train your mind to be able to focus more powerfully. Lastly there
is a CD-ROM containing four complete classic books on building
wealth/achieving your dreams.

Q: How long will the course be available?

A: No specified limit of time, but there are only 150 copies
available.

Q: Why are there only 150 copies available?

A: Basically because I don't have the time to produce and distribute
more, and because I don't want this information to end up pirated all
over the 'net. I only want people who are serious about achieving
their dreams and goals to take the course.

Q: Is this course pretty much the same as other 'manifestation'
products?

A: No, this course is pretty distinct from other courses you might
have seen. The reason is that I have brought together practical
information (rather than just "theory") from a wide number of
sources, both ancient and modern. Also, I include information that
is more personal to YOU, rather than just assuming that the same
things work for everyone.

Q: Is there a downloadable version?

A: No, I've only got physical copies of this course (due to the large
file sizes that the CDs would represent, plus I've bought in the
meditation CDs and don't have the rights to distribute them in
digital form online).

Q: How can I order it?

A: Simply click on one of the order buttons on the website
(www.ManifestationGoldmine.com ) then you will be taken through to
the order page on Paypal. Your course will then be dispatched to
you by registered mail.

Q: Can you accept any other payment type appart from Paypal or
credit/debit cards?

A: If neccessary I can accept a cheque. But please email me
personally in order to arrange this.
